The environment of the domain
The chalets and safari tents of Castelwood have been installed in the forest of Biron, next to the castle classified as a historical monument since 1928.
The forest is home to many different tree species, which we have preserved to the maximum, so as not to disturb the wildlife.
We indeed share the places with a multitude of animals of the forest: birds, squirrels, cervids …
In autumn, the forest hosts a large number of deer during the mating season. It was therefore necessary that we limit as much as possible the impact of our activity on nature.
Our daily measures for an ecological holiday
Among the actions we have put in place to respect the environment, we can mention:
- electricity from 100% renewable energy
- sorting of waste
- water-saving faucets and showers
- use of environmentally friendly detergents.

We greatly encourage you to participate in this action.
For example, we provide selective sorting bins in each rental.
You will find on our waste area, a dumpster for residual waste, a dumpster for recyclable waste and a dumpster for glass waste. Also, a bin for large boxes as well as two bins for plant based waste (compost).
