Practical information

Biron has a grocery shop that also serves lunch. For larger purchases, there is a supermarket 10 minutes away in Villeréal. If you'd like to sample the local produce of the Périgord region, there are plenty of markets in the area - just ask us for the programme!

Do you want to arrive with a full fridge? We can provide you with an arrival hamper, which you can order when you book.

Arrivals are between 4pm and 8pm and departures between 8am and 10am. In high season, arrivals and departures are on Saturdays or Sundays (depending on the accommodation booked) and Wednesdays. In low season, arrivals and departures are on the day of your choice.
In July and August, you can avoid traffic jams by booking from Wednesday to Saturday or Sunday of the following week, and enjoy 10 days' holiday instead of just one week.

The day of your arrival, the chalet or safari tent is cleaned, the refrigerator is on the way. We provide you bed and kitchen linen… but not the bathroom linen ! If you wish your beds to be made upon your arrival, we offer a paid option to be checked when booking.

The kitchen is fully equipped:

• oven

• microwave

• dishwasher

• gas cooker

• fridge

• electric kettle

• coffee maker

• toaster

• and all the necessary dishes!

In The bathroom, all the chalets have a shower and a sink and the toilets are separate. The safari tents also have their own bathroom and toilet for added comfort. As for our tree house, toilets are in the bathroom on the ground floor, but also upstairs.

Castelwood doesn't have a restaurant on site, but we do have a snack bar open 5 days a week. You'll find homemade burgers, vegeburgers, fish and chips, chips, aperitif platters, kebab sandwiches... in short, everything you need to satisfy a small or large hunger! This snack bar is ideal for those who don't feel like shopping the day before departure, or for those who have just arrived.

An aperitif is offered once a week. It's the perfect time to meet your neighbours and our team.

If you'd like to eat out, we also recommend the Auberge du Château, in Biron, which serves authentic, home-cooked local cuisine. A good dose of Périgord on your plate! You can also enjoy a drink on the terrace overlooking the château. If you don't want to take the car, just ask us: we'll give you a shortcut to get there on foot.

For safety reasons, it is not possible to barbecue in front of each chalet. So we're providing an area with shared barbecues where you can cook your sausages, kebabs or corn. There are also large tables next door where you can share your meal with your neighbours. Or, of course, you can enjoy your barbecue in the peace and quiet of your chalet terrace!

Once a week, we organise a communal barbecue. It's a great opportunity for children to make new friends and for parents to chat with their neighbours.

For the high season, we advise you to contact us first to check availability. Thank you for contacting us! All rentals are by name only and may not, under any circumstances, be transferred or sublet.

Your rental contract will only be effective after :

• your deposit

• receipt of our confirmation

The deposit is 25% of the total cost of your stay. The balance must be paid at least 4 weeks before the arrival date. If the balance is not paid within the given period, the cancellation conditions will apply.

If the rental request is for less than 4 weeks, the full amount is due.

We bake our own bread every day! Order it and your pastries in advance, and they will be delivered to you in a small crate bearing the name of your chalet.

A laundry area is available right next to the pool (go for a dip while the machine works for you!).

You'll need a car to get around! A parking space is provided in front of each chalet or safari tent. The nearest petrol station is in Villeréal, 10 minutes from the estate.

Pets are accepted if they are kept on a lead and tattooed with a health record. Only one pet is allowed per chalet or safari tent. They may not be left alone in the accommodation. 

The domain is open from 03/30 At 11/17.

The estate is equipped with Wifi. This is a free option. At Castelwood, disconnecting from your digital life is part of the game. Of course, you'll still be able to access your emails and surf the internet without any great difficulty. Some chalets are equipped with an electric charging station. Request it when booking...
