“Castelwood is a holiday village in the Dordogne.
We are classified in the category of PRL, or Residential Recreation Parks.
But what is it ? We will explain it to you!”
PRL: definition
Residential leisure parks and campsites are classified in the outdoor hotel industry. However, these two types of structures have some differences. The first is in the type of accommodation: a campsite will offer mobile homes, pitches or spaces for campers or caravans.
A PRL will only consist of “leisure homes”; it may be mobile homes but with us, they are wooden chalets.
A campsite will usually offer you multiple animations. With us, we offer you calmness! Only one meal a week to welcome you and two creative workshops a week in high season.
Our PRL is made of wooden chalets
Honestly, talking about PRL, it removes the magic of the place. Castelwood is a village of chalets, all built by Ian, at the origin of the domain. Our cottages are like small houses in which one could live all year. They are fully equipped, quality mattresses, and comfortable sofas for very pleasant evenings.
Our holiday village is eco-labeled. It blends into nature, to become one with the forest.
How our residential domain works
Castelwood is the middle ground between independence and friendliness. You have the keys to your cottage and, as if you rent a chalet, you are in total autonomy. However, some services are shared: the pool, barbecues, the library area, or large tables to eat with your neighbours. Thus, your children always find friends during their holidays. And you, you win in peace!
